Our Vision

The Blind Speed Track Day is a unique motorsport event that offers individuals, who are blind or vision-impaired, an unparalleled motorsport experience.

Designed for those aged 14 and above, our event ensures participants can immerse themselves in the thrill of driving, in a safe and controlled environment.

We offer two experience options: Track Driving Experience: Participants have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a dual-controlled learner vehicle with a professional driving instructor from the NSW Driver Trainer Association by their side, guiding them to confidently navigate the track, learn and enjoy every moment.

Race Car Hot Laps: Sit back and savour the thrill of the race track while securely seated in the passenger side of a race car. A qualified racing driver will take the wheel, ensuring participants experience the full power and agility of the car as it gracefully tackles the circuit.

Our History

Blind Speed Track Days are the brainchild of Blind Speed director Ben Felten, the world’s fastest blind man on a motorcycle. Ben broke the world record in 2018, clocking an incredible speed of 266.716 km/h (165.730 mph), completely blind. His story inspired thousands around the world through documentary films such as Dark Rider and multiple television specials.

After experiencing the thrill of taking control of motorcycles and cars, Ben wanted other people with disabilities to have the opportunity to experience the excitement of motorsport as he has.

“I was inspired to establish Blind Speed Track Days because the most common question I get from people with disability is ‘How can I drive a car or ride a motorcycle?”.

The first Blind Speed Track Day was held at Wakefield Park Raceway, Goulburn, in May 2021. It was a huge success, attended by 55 people with disabilities, most being blind or vision-impaired, and most of whom had never experienced being behind the wheel of a car or the thrill of riding in a race car.
